Features

Alufoil 1: is produced from a multi-layer laminate of aluminium foil and polyester film supported by a high tensile spring steel wire helix totally encapsulated in the duct wall.

Thermally Insulated Type: comprises ‘Alufoil’ core with 25mm thick fibreglass insulation blanket which is sheathed with a durable scuff resistant reinforced aluminium/polyester vapour barrier.

Acoustic Type: comprises perforated duct core minimising sound resonance, with 25mm thick fibreglass insulation blanket sheathed with a scuff resistant reinforced aluminium/polyester vapour barrier.

Technical Data

Alufoil 1 and Thermally Insulated Type: both conform to the following H&V industry recognised standards:

CP 413/1973: BSI publication ‘Code of Practice for ducts for building Services’.

BS 476: Parts 6, 7 and 20

DW 142: HVCA recommendations for flexible ducts

Temperature range: —40°C to +150°C

Working pressure range: +2500 pa to —500 pa

Lengths: Alufoil 1 and Thermally Insulated Type are normally supplied ex stock in 10 mtr lengths compressed and individually boxed. Acoustic ducting is normally supplied in 6 metre or 10 metre lengths depending on the construction.

Recommendations for installation
Sealing of the duct and vapour barrier should be effected with duct tape. For the thermal type the fibreglass between the two walls should be pushed back for about 70mm and the two walls sealed with a 50mm wide duct tape. In both cases fixing should be completed with a fixing clamp.
